A premium automaker wanted to develop its own specific AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive services, based on their requirements, for use in all their ECUs. The automaker also needed to:

Advanced SOA Diagnostics Solution

SOA diagnostics for AUTOSAR Adaptive in a high-performance computing environment

The challenge

One of the world’s largest automakers wanted to introduce a service-oriented architecture (SOA) for its future vehicles, based on microprocessor high-performance computers (HPC). The automaker wanted the ability to diagnose and analyze complex software systems, with an innovative approach to diagnostics. The automaker sought a co-creation partner who could:

Create a sustainable and maintainable, futureproof diagnostics solution for HPC environments
Provide centrally controlled services for data collection, calibration, updates, and fault search
Integrate legacy ECUs to the new architecture

The Luxoft Automotive solution

Luxoft Automotive created a sustainable and cutting-edge solution that set a new standard for SOA diagnostics. This included all lifecycle use cases, including end-of-life scenarios, software errors, remote repair, remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, Over-the-Air programming (OTA), and more. The solution delivered:

The results

With our Advanced SOA Diagnostics solution, the automaker could establish a solution with scalable architecture and integration with AUTOSAR Adaptive. Through this, the central building block was in place for evolutionary services, like remote repair, maintenance and self-repair, and the foundation for upcoming technologies and concepts, like edge computing. Android Automotive IVI Solutions

Dual screen Android Automotive-based IVI system

The challenge

Luxoft Automotive was asked to create proof of concept (PoC) for an Android-based reference in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) implementation. This required the design and development of a dual screen Android Automotive-based IVI system, including home screen, application development, and vehicle hardware abstraction layer (HAL) interface. For the client, Luxoft Automotive was able to:

Achieve system design and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Provide training on Android Automotive system design and development support

The Luxoft Automotive solution

With a full range of Android offerings, our Android Automotive IVI solutions were able to help the client differentiate their head unit offering via user experience (UX) and services, through leading-edge technologies, including:

HAL interface, which allows Android application/framework to communicate with hardware-specific device drivers
User interface (UI) and Home Screen customization, which provides a premium look and feel, covering the dock, action center, widgets, and groups
Application development, which can include multimedia tuner, telephone, heating and ventilation, navigation, vehicle information, vehicle assistance, and connected mobility integration

User Experience | Digital Cluster

Digital Cluster Design Solution

Designing and developing the next generation of digital cluster and head-up display

The challenge

A leading automaker wanted to realize the next generation of full digital cockpit and head-up display for its new carline. The client asked Luxoft Automotive to produce user experience (UX) documentation, including the information architecture and user interactions to support the software development. Other requirements included:

Analysis of client needs
Definition of system and software requirements, in accordance with vehicle functions
User interface (UI) text creation, including localization support

The Luxoft Automotive solution

Luxoft Automotive developed a requirement documentation process for digital cluster design, which included the following:

The ability to follow external audits, including ASPICE, ESOP, AAM, and NHTSA
Analysis of user interactions, to identify opportunities to improve and enhance usability, and the consistency of the UI
Monitoring of the consistency between user interaction and the related UI elements

The results

Luxoft Automotive ramped-up and managed an agile, globally distributed team to develop and integrate UX requirements for its digital cluster and head-up display project, providing the client with results that included:

A dedicated tool to automatically generate the requirement documentation as an html
Constant integration of updates and new functional requirements inside the original UX concept
Continuous on-track delivery of requirement specification documentation
Constant support of the software development team with bug fixing
